HO Yin Man Student of the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong It was an opportunity that I would never want to miss!! Last semester, I travelled across the globe to have my exchange in Perth for a semester after pressing a button to accept the exchange offer. It is a life-changing and unforgettable experience. I arrived at Murdoch in mid-February, enjoyed a year-long summer from Hong Kong to Perth. The living and learning environments are so different between the two places. I learned how to live life as an Australian. And I was taught how to be away from stress in an Aussie way – weekend parties and goon! Moreover, with the scholarship that I was offered, I was able to take part in more adventures in Australia, exploring the gems in the land down under. I signed myself up to two camping road trips organized by Murdoch University along the north and south coasts in Western Australia. I visited a number of national parks and wildlife reserves; I dived into plunging pools; I tried sandboarding in the Pinnacles; I bathed next to a waterfall; I skydived; I learned surfing; I stayed off the Internet for days! I would say my stay was so much more fruitful than what I would have ever pictured. However, the most valuable reward I earned was the friendships built! All the amazing people I met along the way added loads of colour to my life in Australia! After finishing my study in Murdoch, I travelled to the East Coast to continue my quest in the land down under. I visited some major cities, like Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Cairns. However, none of them can beat Murdoch, perhaps because I was missing my friends so badly. Besides, Murdoch is just so unique with culturally diverse communities and insight into the aboriginal cultures. I ventured out of my comfort zone and grew so much that I could not even remember how I was before stepping foot on this wonderful continent. If anyone is considering going on an exchange in Western Australia, I would definitely come and press the button for you! And no worries mate! You will never regret the "click".
