Exchange to The University of Queensland, Australia

I am writing this story to show my gratitude of being granted the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards in the last semester. This scholarship really helped in enriching my exchange experience in Australia.

During the whole semester, the humanised and advanced library, the beautiful Great Court, the fully equipped fitness center in The University of Queensland ("UQ"), all gave me life-long memory. Besides, I really appreciate the friendly and helpful professors, office staff of the university.

With the aid of the scholarship, I managed to travel to Sydney and the Great Barrier Reef during the mid-semester break. The amazing view of Australia shocked me when I took snorkeling in the vast ocean. The White Heaven Beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen, and the night visiting Opera House is the happiest night I had ever experienced.

In addition, what is most impressive and meaningful for me is the government and people's attitude and consciousness towards environmental protection. The direct drinking and refill equipment installed in The UQ and public area reduced the use of plastic bottles. In order to protect the Great Barrier Reef, the tourist management system minimised the ecosystem destruction. As a result of their endeavor, Australia boasts the fantastic landscape and beautiful coastline.

Another gain for me from this exchange is the further understanding of Australian culture. I learned the diversified cultural background of this society. People from all over the world study together, work together and live together in the same city, creating the inclusivness of the city.
