KANG Chuxiao Student of The University of Queensland, Australia Shanghai, and by extension, Fudan University, was an ever-changing environment. What I witnessed when I arrived was very different to what I witnessed when I left. Apart from the obvious physical differences in the city and the university (construction is ever in process in Shanghai, the university was markedly different when I left compared to when I arrived), I felt I had changed deep inside myself. The high-speed nature of Fudan and Shanghai was a contrast to The University of Queensland, which develops at a snail's pace by comparison. Here in Fudan, a week's teaching materials was crammed into one lecture only instead of spreading over a lecture and tutorial class (the way of practice in Australia). Still, I was somehow able to keep my head above water, despite my compulsion to procrastinate. I would never forget my six months at Fudan, and my desire to return to Shanghai grows day by day.
