CHUNG Kai Yee, Elsie Student of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong I am Elsie, a third-year student currently studying at Monash University in Australia. I am grateful to be selected as one of the recipients of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards. Thanks to the award, I can enjoy my exchange journey with less financial burden. As a student studying global economics and finance, having a global vision is of primary importance to my major study. Going on exchange is definitely one of the ways to get worldwide exposure. Therefore, I decided to take this opportunity to study abroad. Going on exchange is definitely one of the most mesmerising experiences I have ever had. Australia is a harmonious country that is full of friendly people. Unlike Hong Kong, where people have a hectic work life or a tight study schedule, Australia promotes work-life balance and has a relaxing atmosphere. It amazes me that universities here do encourage students to develop their interests outside school. For example, they offer a flexible timetable by recording every lecture. As a result, students can have better time management and are able to participate in different learning activities, such as taking an internship. Such kind of measures enabled me to have more time to digest the knowledge and relax. Thus, I truly enjoyed the days in Australia. I would like to thank for the financial support from the Cheung Kong Group and the Australian Government. Without your generous assistance, I could not have such wonderful and carefree experience!
