YAO Jianping (Research Fellowship) North China Electric Power University, China In 2010, I invited a scholar from Australia to visit my university. She told me that her study in China was funded by the Endeavour Award and encouraged me to apply. I did, and was successful, allowing my wonderful Endeavour journey to become possible. After I arrived in Sydney, I met several professors in the Social Policy Research Center (SPRC) in UNSW and discussed my research with them, helped to organize the 2011 Australia Social Policy Conference, did a presentation for the public seminar of SPRC in August, wrote an academic paper with the scholar in SPRC, and took courses with PHD students and undergraduate students. I also took some seminars, workshops, staff trainings held in SPRC and seminar in other faculties of UNSW. My academic ability was greatly enhanced by joining these activities. I am still in touch with the scholars from SPRC even after I came back to China. I am now writing a paper and doing a research project with the scholars from SPRC. Australia is a great country. While I was there, I always traveled to Sydney’s suburbs by train over the weekends and walked around the areas with my friends. Before I left Australia, I also made a trip to Tasmania to see the beautiful landscapes and terrific animals. I had a wonderful experience in Australia. I will cherish the days I spent in Australia all my life.
