What I would really like to say is that, without the scholarship, I definitely would not have been able to travel to so many places in Australia. The six months in Australia was like a “dream come true”. I could have hardly imagined that I have been to all the places that I read about when I was small. Before the start of semester, I went to Hobart to visit Mount Wellington, as well historical places like Richmond and the prison colony site in Port Arthur. For the first time in my life I was embraced by snow. After the semester, I also spent nearly a month traveling from the centre to the eastern part of Australia. I went to Alice Springs to visit Ayers Rock and the deserts. I took a bus from Alice Springs to Adelaide (it was a 24-hour ride!!!) where I visited the famous ports and fruit farms. I also went to cities like Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane, all by train.
What I am most proud of is that I planned all those trips and arranged everything by myself. This was an incredible achievement for me as I have never been a real backpacker before. During all these trips, I met so many different people and I experienced so many things that I could hardly have imagined before. For example, I missed my flight and so I had to re-book all my accommodation, day tour, tickets and change my entire travel plans in an hour. I also had to sleep in the airport because of this as well...
This six months was the most unforgettable time of my three-year studies at university!
