Ut Man Wu, Carmen Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong The exchange to Australia really gave me a great opportunity to experience different cultures. Hong Kong is a fast paced city – even though I am only a student, I am expected to deal with many things at the same time and in a hurry. In contrast, when I was in Australia, my life was more relaxed and free of pressure. In fact, I was really impressed by the friendly attitude of Australians. When I first arrived, I was really confused and did not know where to check into my apartment. Carrying 40 kg of luggage, I was really tired and frustrated. Luckily, at that time, some pedestrians came forward to help me. I deeply appreciated their kindness. Besides studying, I have visited many places during weekends and holidays, including the Great Ocean Road, Philip Island and Mount Buller. In addition to local students, I also made many friends from different nations, for example Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Korea. It was really interesting to share our living habits and daily stories with each other. Overall, the exchange to Australia was really a great experience for me. I am looking forward to the opportunity of visiting Australia again in the future.
