Sherman Lo University of Western Australia, Australia
Hong Kong also serves as the perfect hub for travelling to anywhere in Asia. During my study breaks, I visited Shanghai, Beijing, Macau, Thailand and the Philippines. The location of the University of Hong Kong is situated right above the CBD of Hong Kong (Central), and right next to the premier nightlife spot, Lan Kwai Fong. Public transport is not too expensive and you can get to almost anywhere in Hong Kong from the University in under an hour. Shortly after I arrived, the University organized tours of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories (the three main districts of Hong Kong) along with 300 or so other exchange students. The amazing experience of my exchange survives in the form of life-long friendships developed with local and other exchange students. With a bit of luck and an open mind, I managed to meet a great bunch of friends that I regularly keep in contact with today (who are also a great source of free accommodation!).
